The Liberator Irish Malt in Tawny Port Finish

This is a rich and complex Malt Whiskey, full of fruit flavours.  It's Ireland's first Vatted Malt in decades - made up of 2 Single Malts from different distilleries and led the wave of Port finished Whiskeys. Initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks, it was finished in really fresh Tawny Port casks (that we sourced ourselves directly from the Quinta through family in Portugal) for between 9 & 12 months.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Intense fruity aromas like dried cherries, figs and freshly peeled citrus zests. Palate: First some roasted aromas from malt and hazel nuts, then undertones of a winey sweetness, again fruity but now more blackberries, dried kiwi and blood orange zests, the mouthfeel is smooth with a soft sparkle. Finish: Warm and spicy with a bit of candied ginger, again long-pepper and citrus zests.

Batch 5 - 5,000 numbered bottles is now available at €70/bottle - please see the 'Stockists' tab in the Menu.

The Liberator Double Port Finish

The Liberator Double Port is a light but characterful Blended Whiskey. It's a premium blend, with an unusually high (42%) content of Malt Whiskey (most blends have 5-15% Malt), giving it depth and complexity while retaining the approachability of the Grain component. The Whiskey was initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks then it was finished for 9-12 months in a range of fresh Ruby and Tawny Port casks giving a rich fruity taste.

Tasting Notes: Rich dried fruits on the Nose. Blackcurrant, cloves, orange zest and pear drops and a creamy mouthfeel on the Palate. A medium length Finish with vanilla, almonds and some spice.

Batch 2 - 3,000 numbered bottles at 46% ABV - is now available priced at €55/bottle - please see 'Stockists' tab in the Menu.
